About our Public Speech Techniques:

We utilize three basic presentation techniques.  They are the "Michael Chekhov", "Communicative Lines of Body Language" and "Ground Voice" techniques.

The Michael Chekhov Technique allows you to focus on the quality of your movements and gestures.

Communicative Lines assists you in communicating with your audience using the clarity of body language.  Imagine someone saying, "Let me help you" with his finger pointing at you.  Now, imagine someone saying the same "Let me help you" with his palms open towards you.

Ground Voice is a theatre technique that helps keep your voice fresh and solid.  If you have to speak more than one hour, we recommend that you work on your voice first.

KAZ MATAMURA is the co-owner of the Secret Rose Theatre in the NoHo Arts District along with her partner MikeRademaekers. Her goal in opening the venue was to create a theatre space for the community that offered support and services to nurture their creativity. She offers a social consciousness to the community that has helped NoHoArts District achieve cultural diversity. As a founder of the non-profit Fire Rose Productions, Kaz has created rare opportunities for both new and established playwrights to exercise their creativity in a nurturing environment. This includes One-Person Play workshops, a playwriting marathon and their annual 10-Minute Play Competition that is now in its fifth year, was recently the recipient of the Valley Theatre League’s Artistic Director Achievement Award and now receives submissions internationally. She created interactive reading programs for youths at two of the local public libraries, and teaches a very popular “Summer Shakespeare” workshop in which children get to work with the actual Shakespearean text. She is also a classical Japanese Dance master of the Fujima Souke school under the guidance of the renowned Fujima Kansuma.

She currently lives in Los Angeles, "sunny" California with two maniac kitties: Tigger and Gobbles.
